Long Slow Deep (90 mins)

Beginning with a warm-up series of spinal balancing, lengthening and strengthening, we prepare our body for the longer yin holds to follow.  


The remaining asanas are performed on the floor, allowing our nervous system to deeply rest.  Yin poses include forward folds, hip and heart openings.  


Ample use of props and adjustments allow the poses to be accessible to everyone. 


In Long Slow Deep, our focus is contacting the deeper yin tissues in the ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks and bones.  


We complete our practice in savasana, allowing for integation and deep peace.  Some of the many benefits of Long Slow Deep include:

YIN YOGA (60 mins)

These classes are a combination of yin yoga, yoga nidra and gentle breath practices.. 

These practices help calm the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety and bring our body/mind into a place of deep relaxation.  

Yin yoga gives us the opportunity to draw our attention within and nurture the calm, inner centre that is innate in all of us.  Yin yoga targets the deepest tissues - our connective tissues. Poses are held for longer periods of time and are floor poses, working mainly on the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine.    As we learn to surrender in yin yoga, this becomes a lesson we can carry with us into our day-to-day lives. 

Yoga nidra is a form of meditation that uses the whole body as a focus of awareness, while laying comfortably in savasana. It has often been referred to as “yogic sleep” but we remain completely aware and present.   Yoga Nidra provides a sophisticated set of mind/body practices that can help us navigate some of life's difficult challenges, as well as enhance everyday well-being.   

Breath - our life force (prana) enters our body on our breath.  Learning different ways to breathe more consciously helps expand our sense of aliveness and gives us practical tools to help manage the stresses of daily life.
